This particular pearl farm is on a remote island in Eastern Indonesia called Seram. Pearls are grown in the Phillipines, Mynamar, Indonesia, Australia, Hawaii ,Thailand and the Gulf of California. Many pearl farms are located in secluded warm areas called atolls. The distance between these small islands can be hundreds of miles and many pearl farms can only be reached by sea planes.
